Wesley Kipchumba Korir and his wife Tarah founded Transcend Academy in 2013. Kenyan Kids Foundation USA is the sister charity to its Canadian counterpart. Wesley is the 2012 Boston Marathon champion, a two time LA Marathon champion, and took 2nd place in the Chicago Marathon in 2011. In the 2013 Kenyan general election, Wesley was elected to a seat in the National Assembly.
Emily Davis was first introduced to Wesley in 2020 through a mutual connection. Emily's passion for serving in Kenya and connection in the USA running industry created the perfect platform to partner with Wesley on charitable projects in Kenya. Emily and her husband Keith are owners of Fleet Feet Winston-Salem and Fleet Feet Clemmons, both in North Carolina.
Deb serves as the Treasurer for Kenyan Kids Foundation USA. Deb has a heart for adventure and mission trips and has visited Kenya a number of times. After her visit to Transcend Talent Academy, Deb graciously raised her hand to help with managing the accounting and expenses for the charity.
Coach Mann served as Wesley's coach at University of Louisville, and currently coaches his younger brother John Korir. Coach has a big heart for others and uses his contacts and resources to help those in need. Coach Mann was named into the Hall of Fame and also coached the men's team in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
